Job Overview

The Product Owner will guide Rightworks' product development according to the strategic vision and customer value. This individual will also facilitate Scrum ceremonies and ensure that the Agile process is followed by the development team. The candidate must be capable of balancing product ownership with the facilitative leadership required of a Scrum Master.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Technical Product Manger to refine and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Convert strategic goals into actionable user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Validate the delivery of product features against defined objectives and customer needs.
Scrum Leadership
  • Act as Scrum Master by facilitating daily scrum, sprint review, sprint planning, retrospective, and other Scrum events.
  • Coach the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
  • Help the development team to identify and resolve impediments.
  • Ensure a collaborative culture that promotes the sharing of ideas, willingness to learn, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the point of communication between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring alignment and understanding of the product vision.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and manage expectations throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Proactively updates stakeholders on project progress regarding impediments / delivery timelines.
Team Efficiency
  • Track the progress of sprints and manage the Scrum board and burn-down charts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and on-time delivery within the team.
Continuous Improvement
  • Encourage and lead the team in regular retrospectives to discuss what went well, potential improvements, and strategies for implementing changes.
Requirements
  • Proven track record as a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master in a tech company.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and the ability to apply them in a flexible and pragmatic way.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts within the team effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder expectations.
